Christmas bakery the gothy way

As I told the last time, I will show you some goth Christmas bakery.

I love cookies. All around the year and spezially at christmas time. But with christmas cookies it is the same as the dekorations. Nothing really gothic looking. So lets style them up.

during the last years i got several cookie cutters which look gothy. I am haveing three diferent Bat cutters and a Skull. And it is really great. Make the dough of your choice, i choose choclate for the Bats and Butter-cookies for the skull. So it all has the color thats normal to it.
When you dont have cookie cutters like this, you can get Bats, skulls and other really gothy ones at flez-art.de. Etsy is also a great place to get something different to the normal ones.

And if you dont want to buy some of this, you can decorate normal cookie shapes a bit more gothic. So how about makeing round cookies and dekorate them with white iceing and chocolate like Jack Skellington Faces? Or simply cover with really dark choclate so that they look black.
Another Idea is makeing gingerbread man, cover with dark choclate and paint a skeleton on it with white iceing.
I also found some skull sugar sprinkles to dekorate the cookies. It was Halloween time when i bought them.
Last but not least, poisoned apple cookies. Easy cookie dough, dekoratet with red and black iceing.
Or make Cinnamon Stars and paint a Pentagram on them.
Maby cutting out layered Cookies in Coffin shape? There are so much you can do. Just get creative.

And here you go with some really gothy and spooky christmas cookies.
finally, mine:

And as an litte extra, the Queen herself by rolling out the Gingerbread dough at her best friends kitchen:

So now enjoy your bakery and Cooky dekoration. And let me know if you are haveing another idea on how to make the christmas bakery more Goth.

DIY: Ideas on a spooky Christmas

Halloween is over now and the holiday season is right around the corner. Everyone ist doing holiday dekoration and there is christmas stuff every where you look. Bright and shiny Christmas ornaments, sparkling Lights and cheesy red and green Santa Claus Stuff.
So I thought it is time to bring the nightmare before Christmas to live and let this holiday season have a little toutch of never ending Hallowenn. Silent time? Lets get loud!
The easiest way to add a little goth touch to it, is haveing a black christmas tree. They can be easily found at the internet. The other way are black christmas ornaments. Last year black ornaments were really popular at Bavaria.  And they are moste time really cheap an easy to find. When you dont find them to buy, they are easy to make. Buy some really cheap ones and paint them black.
But you can go way more creative. There are so many Ideas on the internet what you can make.

Here are my Ideas:
- cut out Bat or Skull ornaments from Cardboard or made from modelling clay
- Black Santa Socks. (made out of felt, no hemming needed)
- Black Santa Hats
- A black Angel Christmas Tree Topper
- Black Candles and Bows at the wreath.

My personal holiday decoration this year is really minimal because i am moving during the holidays. So there will only be a gothy christmas door wreath this year.

I took a cheap styrofoam wreath from the craft store and covered it with grey knitting material. I used this because i can re-decorate it for every season.
The decoration are black ribbon, silver snow star jewelry and a black bow. The Bells i like very much. these are my personal "Hells Bells". It is nothing really special, but it is definitely diferent to the ones you can buy.

Now get everyone a black Santa Hat, listen to one of the gothy or heavy metal Christmas songs and enjoy a spooky holiday season.

Next time i will show you my gothy christmas bakery.

best wishes,

Daily Planner + free download

Its been a long time since the last post. Again. I didnt manage to post as regularily as i wannted to.
So i need to organize my days a lot better. And how could you do this the easyest way? By getting a daily planner!

Because there was no planner on sale what suits me with the classification of the days, i took a look at pinterest and found one that i liked. It is to download and print for free, great thing. The problem is: its bright and colorfull and very ungothy, so i would not use it.
Here is the link to it: Daily Planner German and English
and another one that i liked a lot: daily planner german

So i decided to make one my own, bought a blank journal and started to design pages at my PC. And when finishing the first page i realized that there is no need of printable pages when already haveing a journal.
So there was the next thought. Buying a binder for the printables or design the pages of the journal? I decided to buy a binder. Why? It is a lot easyer and it was a lot work creating the printable because i am not really good at working with a computer.

I will start useing my new journal at the 1st of June. (Today) In my opinion it is a good date to start something new. half the year is over so its time to take a look back at new years resolutions. How far did you came up with them? Did you finish one already? (like loosing weight, reading a book or so)
And maybe it is time to get on some new ones. Or update the old ones.

Back to the planner. Here is the pags i've made. Please feel free to download and print for your personal use.
the picute is linked to the pdf

From now on i hope i could manage to do regular blog postings and do not stop after two successful weeks.

How do you manage to stay on plan? And how are you planning out your day/week?

Bat wishes and have a nice day,
Regina

DIY: quick Jewelry Box

Some time ago i've been looking around pinterest on some diy ideas. And i came up with:

I need a jewelry box to hold my Piercings.

There are so many great ideas on makeing your own personalised jewelry boxes. Or boxes to hold other stuff.

heres the link to it
This one i fell totaly in love with. this miniature dresser is so awesome! Unfortunately it is already sold. (and i think it would be really expensive.)

And so i was looking on one i can do myself looking a bit like this. And i found a really simple and quick tutorial on doing a little jewelry box.

And here is the matching link with the tutorial: follow me

useing an empty Ferrero Rocher Container is a really great idea. Especially because i love them. And so i grabed my black paint and an jewelry piece to glue on top and started following the instructions

I simply added some red felt to the inside to give it a more Coffin like look. And prevent the piercing from skratching of the collour.
It does not look like the jewelry box i fell in love with but it is pretty cool and very cheap too.

show me your diy jewelry boxes. Or do you have some great ones bought?

have a nice day,
bat wishes

Outfit: going a little Steampunk

I am sooo excited!! My Boyfriend and i are going to the WGT (wave gothic treffen) Festival at Leipzig, Germany this year! And because of this i need some really coll outfits. And i started by putting some Steampunk elements to my normal styling.
The outfit is not completed yet. There are a hat or headpice left, some jewelry like earrings and bracelets.

Here is what i am haveing so far:

Skirt from Draculaclothing: black three layer bustle skirt
Shoes from Demonia
Corsett from Steamdreams: Corsett "Rebecca"
Necklace from Thrift Shop
Blouse from my Moms Wardrobe
Handbag from a Dollar Store (Box, der Kleinpreiskönig)

I really look forward wearing this outfit.
Maby i will change the blouse and make one myself. But thats a question of time.
So what do you think? Does the outfit look good? Is something essential missing? Because this is a kind of experiment. Usually i wear all black.

Only 9 days left to WGT!!

Bat wishes and have a nice day,
Regina

Goth at (and) the Gym

Gym's are some of the non gothy places number one. But: wanting a hot and toned body is a lot of work and this is done at a gym the easyest way. And nowadays working out, eating healty and beeing strong is everywere on media. Watching tv is not working without some fitness advertising. And because of that i thougt, why not blogging a bit about fitness?

Finding the right gym is the first step. How far is the gym away? What does it cost? What do they offer?
Then there is the next step: Time. One of my personal major problems. When do i go? How often do i want to work out?
And number three: motivation. What motivates me to go? Do i have a training partner? What do i need to do to stay motivated?

When visiting the gym i sometimes felt really unconfy. All the bright colours and loud top 10 chart music makes me feel not good. So i needed to change someting. And i started with the music. Getting out my old mp3 player and packed it full of good heavy metal and goth music.
As next the workout clothes. I get myself some black shoes and trousers. And a top from "Poison Industries" what gave me a good feeling back. Finally i toped it with a black towel and water bottle.
For now you can see i am a goth at the gym.
And while surfing the net, i saw the #healthgoth website were you can find goth gym clothing
the healthgoth website

Dont want to go to a gym? No problem. The internet is full of home gym programs. They are mostely really expensive and high intense. Not the right for everybody.
But fortunetly there is youtube. Full of fitness coaches who showes you how to workout at home without a gym or expensive online training.
My favourite youtube fitness coach is Joanna Soh. She is crazy high energysed. But her workouts do really work. And also all recipes i tried out so far tasted really delicious.
here is the link to her official website: J Soh official

writing this blog helps me getting my motivation back to do more workout. What gets you motivated? are you haveing a motivation board? And what do you do to stay fit?

DIY: Pincushion out of a ashtray

A few days ago i went shopping with a friend of mine and i found a really great looking ashtray at "TEDI's" - this is something like a german version of a Dollar Store. And because i am an non smoker i have no use for it. But will i really be a crafty goth when heaving no idea what to do with it?

And after a while of thinking - and sewing - i came up with the idea to make a pincushion out of it.

This is what i used:

- the skull ashtray
- pillow fluff
- black stretchy velvet
- cardboard
- hot glue

I start by cutting out a piece of cardbord that fits inside the ashtray with a bit of space all around.

As next, sew a long strip to a round piece of the fabrik so that it looks like a half sitting pillow and its a bit whider than the ashtray.

then glue the cardborad as bottom to it, leaving a small space to stuff it with the pillow fluff.

when its completely stuffed, glue the opening shot an glue it into the ashtray.

And now you are done with a really spooky and gothy pincushion what looks good on every sewing table and give it an extra gothy look.

I had a lot of fun doing this. And it would be great to see or read what unusual transformations you did out of Dollar Store finds, or did you have the same Idea as i did?
So, what are other sewing supplies that need to be gothed up?

bat wishes and have a nice day,

Regina

upcoming sewing projects

Springtime is already here and, like every woman, i got nothing to wear for springtime. Its to warm for the winter coats and its to cold for summerjackets or nothing. The good old leather jacket does not match every outfit. So i need something new.
And there is the next (luxury) Problem: What i want to have does not exist or it is to expentive for me.
So i need to sew them myself.

I came up with two patterns. One for a jacket and one for a coat.

The jacket i want to mix up from two patterns. The patterns are published at the "Simplicity 4/2013" and are the numbers 34 and 35

so it is the green jacket i want to make with the collar from the red one. The really great on Simplycitiy Magazin is, there is a page where all pieces shown as a black and white painting. So it is really easy to think of it in black.
This one is made out of felt and will be pretty warm i think. The right for an german, cold spring.

so here is the black and white version. This helps really. especially when thinking of a pattern what is sewn really colorful and with different types of pattern on it.

The second project will be the coat of an complete outfit, also from symplicity.
Its pattern number 7532, and you can get it here: link to Amazon

picture from amazon.de
And i will make this out of black cotton fabric, lined with red fabric. I think this combination got the most vampire look. I will also wear this at this years WGT (wave gothic treffen at Leipzig) Maby i chance the collar.

Hopefully, you will soon see a making of of this two things. Do you have the same Springtime problems? let me know what you are doing

bat wishes,
Regina

DIY: Wall decoration

I am so sorry. My first Post is saying i am posting once or twice a week, and now i posted nothing almost two weeks. But i had a really really bad headake and were not able to sit in front of my computer.
Now let's DIY:

the "naked" wall
The wall behind my dinning Table was empty, really empty and i needed to change this. And i decided to make a Lady Skull in a frame. Big, good looking and really easy to make.

the first design
as first i searched the internet for inspiration. It was not easy to find a picture fitting my representations. So i sat down and took a pencil to make my own design. I am haveing some earrings looking quite similar to the design i came up with. A skull with an victorian inspired hairstail and an oval frame. The frame is topped by an bat and some bats are flying up one side. I was not sure if this is looking good and so i did not make the bats.

used materials:
-A big pice of thik cardboard. Mine was a huge packaging box
-the design
-pencil and marker
-knife and scissors
-an old newspaper
-white glue

the cardbord cut-out

after drawing the design to the cardbord with a marker (i could not see the pencil on it) i cut it out with a sharp knife. the cardbord was almost to thik to cut with my scissors.

the glued object

the cardbord had really not good looking edges. And so i finished them up with one layer of papier mache. and with some rolled up paper i gave some structue to the ornaments of the frame. It took really really long time to finish all the small edges of the cut-outs. But it was worth it.
when finising all the glue-work i let it dry over night. And then the fun part was coming. Colouring it.
I took black acrylic paint and painted everything black. After drying again i put it up the wall by simply useing hammer and nail.

And this is what it looks now:

This was an fun, easy and cheap project. Maby i am doing something like this for bedroom decoration.

Hope you enjoyed reading this and maby i inspired you to do something similar. Then it would be great to see your work in the comments.

have a great weekend,

bat wishes,

Regina

Finally! I got my own blog. After reading gothic blogs an watch gothic youtube channels quite a long time, now i thought it is time to have my own blog.

What will i do with this blog?

In this blog i will share my DIY Ideas and Projects with you. This will be crafting, sewing and knitting things.
There will also be reviews to craft tutorials, fashion stores and maby some other things.
Also i will do shopping hauls and everything else about what means Gothic and Gothic lifestyle to me.
All in one, this will be an all Gothic blog.

And who am I?

I am Regina, the Queen of bats. At the moment i am 23 years old and from Bavaria - so please excuse if there are lots of mistakes at my writing and please feel free to corret me. I started wearing black about 7 years ago. And after a while i found out more and more about Gothic subculture and i felt home there so i stayed. I am into DIY since i was a little girl, there i started making furniture and clothes for my dolls. When i went to school my mom and grandmom teached me how to knit and sew stuff for myself. And i continued learning and getting better and better.

So i hope you will enjoy reading my blog. I try to blog once or twice a week. So that there are 6-8 posts a month.

Feel free to comment with things you want to know or want me to show you.
